Daytona (“DJ”) Higareda is a Chicago(ish) based writer & filmmaker. Much to her dismay, the closest DJ has been to living in the actual city is her three-year stint at Columbia College Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Film & Television Arts, and a minor in managing her temper on I-90 (just kidding; Her minor is in Writing for Television).

When she is not sitting in a dark room conversing with her imaginary friends (ie; writing dialogue for her characters) DJ can be found behind the small, big-town bar she has managed since 2021. If she is neither of those places, her dog has bullied her into another long walk. Don’t worry— she needs the fresh air!
